We run courses for people operating a number of different machines in the workplace. Specifically we run operator courses for:
Truck hiabs or hiab assistants
We run our courses like a toolbox meeting giving everyone a chance to participate and share their knowledge and experiences. You’ll either watch a PowerPoint presentation during which you’ll complete a written assessment, or Stan will guide you through the written material using discussion as the main teaching tool. After the theory part of the course, you’ll do a set number of practical tests for each type of machine to complete the course.
Our courses include lots of good practice and handy tips to make all types of machine operation safe and effective. We cover health and safety, components of the each machine, operational checks, managing hazards in the workplace and operating skills. Our courses also cover the more specific aspects of operating each type of machine.
At the end of the course, successful participants will receive a A4 certificate and a wallet-sized certificate which remains current for 3 years. We’ll send you a reminder near the end of the 3 year period to let you know it is time to re-do the course to maintain currency of training.
While we will take complete beginners, we will not issue their certificate until they have had practice in the workplace and can demonstrate their competence by repeating the practical assessment at a later date. We don’t run set course times – we work with your timeframes and calendar.
We will generally come to your site so that you can do the practical assessment on the machines you normally operate. Call us to discuss cost as it can vary depending on the numbers in each course.
