We run courses for the WTR endorsement. You need a WTR endorsement on your licence if you operate a roller, a machine with self-laying racks or a machine that runs on wheels such as loaders, on the road.
You need a full class 1 (car) licence before you can put these endorsements on your licence.
We use the Connexis approved Operators Safety manual for Earthmoving Machinery and the New Zealand Transport Agency approved unit standard assessment material. You keep the manual at the end of the course.
The unit standards are:
US6701 – Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving on a road for endorsement W (Wheels).
US16702 - Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving on a road for endorsement R (Rollers).
US16703 - Demonstrate knowledge and skills for driving on a road for endorsement T (Tracks).
Most people do all 3 at once but some only require one or the other. The paper work is the same for all 3. Each of the machines has its own practical assessment to complete the course.
Once you have successfully completed the course, you will receive a New Zealand Transport Agency certificate to take to AA, VTNZ or VINZ where the endorsement will be added to your licence. There is a fee and some paperwork to complete at their end. The WTR endorsement does not need to be renewed. The endorsement remains on your licence while your licence remains valid and current. We don’t run set course times – we work with your timeframes and calendar.
We can come to your site or you can come to our training centre in Stratford. We have all 3 of the machines on site to complete your practical assessments.
Call us to discuss cost as it can vary depending on the numbers in each course.
